Gordon Whitehead

One of the main members of our club for so many years, Gordon Whitehead, has died at his home in Wendover aged 78.

Table Tennis was his life and over so very many years he touched, helped and coached so many people, not only for our Tring club, but also at Bierton and Quarrendon.

He will be missed by many of us who valued his friendship.

2022/23 Season Update

The club has never had a better start to the season

 After 3 games:

Tring A.         6 points clear at the top of Division 1

Tring B.         8 points clear at the top of Division 2

Tring C.         1= in Division 3

However we are still on the lookout for new players wanting to try out league play. Please do contact us via the contacts tab.

2022/2023 Season

After only having two teams in the League over the last two seasons becuase of COVID, we have had new players join and for the coming season we have now 3 teams in the League. We have entered one in each of Division 1, 2 and 3.

Do you play table tennis?

Do you have trouble finding someone to play table tennis with?

We are looking for some new players to join us for practice sessions and matches in local Aylesbury league, all levels of ability required.

Our home game nights are at venue near Tring Station and start at 7.30pm, weekday evenings only.

If of interest please contact using the details on the contact tab, and come and have a practice.

27 September Update

For the season 2020/2021 we have entered two teams in the Aylesbury league.

Tring School update

It now appears unlikely that our coaching sessions will restart at Tring School.

There are sessions for Juniors at Quarrendon on a Wednesday and Bierton on a Tuesday. An ETTA coach is present at the Bierton session.  Contact ontact the ADTTL Secretary David Badham on 07757 853334 for more information.

September 2021 Update

ADTTL are proposing to restart the league in October for a shortened season. We are proposing to enter two teams - one in Division 3 that will also play Juniors and one in Division 1. More on this later.

In order to attract juniors to play ADTTL are considering whether to make all matches involving juniors have sets the best of 3 rather than 5.

Tring School Sessions

Tring School have requested us to remove all our tables from the Dome where they are currently being stored. At this time we do not know whether we will be allowed to hire the new School Hall for our Club sessions. Support for the School lunchtime club is also in doubt.

June 2021 Update

ADTTL League

At the moment we are waiting for ADTTL to decide the format of the League for the season 2021/2022 to start in September. As soon as this is known we will update via email all players.

Tring School Sessions

Tring School have not advised us yet whether these sessions will be able to start in September, as it depends on the build of the new Sports Hall. Our tables are still stored somewhere in the school and we are hopeful of recommencing the sessions once the Hall is released for use - however this could even be early 2022.

For Junior Table Tennis we would recommend that you contact the ADTTL Secretary David Badham on 07757 853334. There is junior coaching on Wednesday evenings at the Quarrendon Centre and at Bierton TTC on Tuesday evenings.

Season 2020/2021

Tring Table Tennis Club, is governed by the ETTA for its safety and sanitisation procedures for Covid-19. For the season starting in September 2020 it has been decided at its AGM that the club will not run teams in the ADTTL league. The decision will be reviewed in December 2020 based on the situation at that time.

The coaching sessions run at Tring School Hall on a Monday evening will also not be taking place. There is a further complication that it is not known whether Tring School can hire us a Hall because of the Rebuild that is underway. This decision will also be reviewed for the Spring Term in December 2020.

The Club also support Tring School by running a Lunchtime club on a Monday lunchtime. This also will not be supported with all the coaches in an "at risk" group over 70. This will also be part of the review for the Spring Term in December 2020.

At this time unfortunately we cannot cater for new players.

To find out more about joining the Club or coming to a coaching/training session please contact one of the officers listed on our Contact page.
